Interactive indicators on Spanish economic health
CaixaBank Research
WEB | VISUALIZATION | DATA
We developed the new web portal ‘Economía en Tiempo Real’, a pioneering project whose objective is to monitor the evolution of the Spanish economy through 12 indicators built with internal CaixaBank data, aggregated using big data techniques.
CaixaBank Research, the Research Service of CaixaBank, has made available to the public quality information on five major areas: consumption, inequality, tourism, wages and housing.
Abacus Consulting se ha encargado del desarrollo técnico de la aplicación web: desde la preparación de los datos hasta la visualización de las distintas series de datos estadísticos. This long project, coordinated by the company Prodigioso Volcán, has been carried out in successive phases: creation of dictionaries, standardization and homogenization of data based on card expenditures, prototyping and design, and final development.
Content customization
We have developed a selector of the most significant categories of CaixaBank Research statistics (age groups, socioeconomic level, gender, autonomous community) so that the user can obtain a detailed and personalized report with the latest available data.

Pioneers in data visualization
The objective of this project has been to monitor the evolution of the Spanish economy through 12 indicators built with internal CaixaBank data, aggregated using big data techniques. The indicators are grouped into five areas: consumption, housing, tourism, wages and inequality. Each of these indicators can be consulted by different dimensions, which makes it possible to identify differences between groups (age, gender, income, sector of activity), regions (autonomous communities, municipalities), … In total, more than 800 data series are published and displayed and updated monthly.
